A NEW LIFESTYLE, WELLBEING HUB IN TETTENHALL, COMPRISING STATE-OF-THE-ART GYM, CAFE AND SPORTS THERAPY.
£6,000,000 has already been invested, to redevelop the Chris Jewkes Fitness site on Danescourt Road! The planning application has now been submitted, to transform the site (formerly the Express & Star Social Club) into a new lifestyle proposition. This site is already synonymous with fitness, seeing as it has been a fully functioning gym facility, for the past fifteen years, so the redevelopment will merely improve what has already gone before.
Ultimately this new community ‘wellbeing’ hub will add a new dimension for local businesses and residents, and with a coffee shop too, it will offer a new meeting place to socialise.
The Hamiltons Leisure Group will share more information regarding the interior and the fitness offerings once planning has been granted. However, they will be providing the very best equipment with Hoist, one of the most well respected, premium brands of gym kit, and completely exclusive to this region, along with some well-known ‘faces’ in its lead instructors. Mal Purchase, known for his outstanding expertise and nationally renowned in the industry given his portfolio of roles and credits, will be in charge of the site, and its new Head of Sports and Fitness, and another familiar face supporting him, will be none other than Chris Jewkes himself, who sold the business to Hamiltons Leisure back in 2023.
There have been some fantastical, and rather outlandish rumours flying around speculating on the new owners’ plans. So now all has been revealed, and Hamiltons are now just waiting to hear of the outcomes of the planning permission. A decision is likely in the Autumn, no later than the 17th September! By the time this goes to press, the re-development programme may well have already started. There will also be a microsite Hamiltonsleisure.co.uk going live at the same time, for anyone wishing for more insight, and to track progress and outcomes. This will also give specific information on all plans for the facility, including instructor profiles, classes and events, along with a timeline for the opening.
Hamiltons are keen to communicate a simple mission statement, to simply provide a ‘lifestyle, and wellness’ hub for the local community, that in time, will become an integral part of the fabric of Tettenhall, and its surrounding areas.
